How serious are we about aluminum recycling?

With the exponentially growing aluminum demand, it is evident that there would not be enough primary aluminum available to meet the demand indefinitely. Further, expanding primary aluminum production at this rate may result in CO2eq emission reaching a dangerous level by 2100. Nonetheless, recycling aluminum can produce pure metal saving more than 90% of the energy needed to produce primary aluminum. This is also economical and can save a huge volume of metal ending in landfills.
