About Dr. Subodh Das

Dr. Subodh Das is a globally recognized serial entrepreneur in industrial, academic, and technology-based companies; and founder and manager of several aluminum research consortia involving multi-disciplinary collaborations among industry, universities, and U.S. national laboratories.

He is also an inventor (20 U.S. patents), researcher, technology visionary, thought leader, subject matter expert, and consultant to the global metals (aluminum, magnesium, titanium, and rare earth elements), specializing in aluminum technology development and commercialization for recycling, scrap processing, manufacturing, and new product and process developments.

He is well-connected in the entire aluminum supply chain from “mine to market” with special emphasis on leading manufacturing, research, and development teams towards commercial implementation. He also serves on the DOE Industrial Technology Innovation Advisory Committee (ITIAC), reporting to the US Secretary of Energy. As a 45+ year veteran, Dr. Das has worked in manufacturing (25 years including Alcoa and Logan Aluminum/Tri-Arrows), academic (8 years at The University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky), and entrepreneurial (12 years forming 6 research consortia and companies) settings. He is a prolific writer of papers and books and a frequent invited presenter at conferences and an active LinkedIn contributor.

Dr. Das is a registered aluminum specialist and expert for the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative, and has also served as an expert witness in several legal depositions.
