Are we neglecting the serious sustainability issues across the aluminum value chain while focusing exclusively on fuel sources? Using hydropower cannot be the only solution that can address the sustainability challenges in aluminum. We need a holistic approach that targets the reduction of cradle-to-gate emission and mitigates the impact of all key issues like waste and scrap generation, landfill, and downgrading.
