Dr. Subodh Das has over 35 years of global aluminum experience in the manufacturing and technology sectors. Prior to founding Phinix, LLC, he had also founded and served as the President and CEO of Secat Inc., Director for the Center for Aluminum Technology, Executive Director for the Sloan Industry Center for a Sustainable Aluminum Industry, and Adjunct Professor at the University of Kentucky. Subodh has also worked as the Vice President of Technology and Quality for ARCO Aluminum, Inc. and as Senior Research Scientist at Alcoa. Subodh obtained his M. Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India and PhD from The University of Michigan both in Metallurgical Engineering. He also obtained his MBA at the University of Pittsburgh. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Kentucky. Subodh holds over 20 US patents, has published over 40 papers, and edited 6 books. Subodh has served on the boards of The Aluminum Association, Secat and the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society.

Dr. H. Wayne Hayden, Tennessee, USADirector of Materials Processing
Dr. Wayne Hayden has been active in the fields of metals and materials for over fifty years. He co-authored a widely used textbook in Materials Science. Since retiring from Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 1999, he has founded MMPaCT, Inc., a consulting firm in the field of materials processing. He is actively working with several US and international commercial clients in the metals and aerospace industries, and has been a consultant to a major law firm on intellectual property issues and major industrial insurance carriers on technical issues related to industrial liability cases. Dr. Hayden is a co-inventor on 65 U.S. and foreign patents including the copper-cored composite material presently used for US coinage. Dr. Hayden was a co-recipient of the ASM Marcus A. Grossman Young Author Award, the Inventor of the Year award by the International Hall of Fame, and the Application to Practice Award by TMS-AIME. He is a Fellow of ASM-International.
John Gilbert Kaufman Jr., Delaware, USADirector of Alloy Development
Fifty four years in the aluminum and related materials industries, focusing on alloy and product development and performance, including (a) twenty years at various levels of aluminum industry R&D management, including five years as VP/Director of Research and Development, (b) eight years as CEO of a computerized worldwide materials database, and (c) four years as VP Technology for the Aluminum Association in Washington, DC. Author or coauthor of a number of books and more than 140 other publications on aluminum alloys and materials performance.
Dr. Arvind Thekdi, Maryland, USADirector of Energy Management Services
Dr. Thekdi has over 40 years of experience in energy management and efficiency optimization activities together with research, development, design of industrial heating equipment and waste heat recovery systems in all major industries. He has worked on a number of R&D programs related to development and commercialization of innovative heating furnaces, heat recovery systems and modeling of systems to reduce energy use and Green House Gases.
